My first review is on one of my favorite products as of lately- Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough by Pillsbury. It is an excellent cookie dough.
My fiance unfortunately got ahold of one and popped it in his mouth before I had a chance to grab it from him and tell him to eat his own gluten-filled (much cheaper) cookies. He exclaimed- “Oh my goodness, this is gluten free?! It tastes like food!” My thoughts exactly. It’s obviously easy to make (take it out, roll it into a ball, and place on a cookie sheet to bake at 350). Not as easy as Immaculate GF Place & Bake, but another blog post on those later. WARNING: contains raw eggs, but if you choose to live on the daring side of things, this cookie dough before baking is also ‘oh-so-good’.
This cookies have a beautiful color after baking and a homemade cookie look to them as well.
My only problem with the cookies are the unnecessary ingredients you find in most things- soy lecithin, natural flavor (which is probably something that WAS natural made artificially into a flavor then considered ‘natural’), potato starch, corn starch, xanthan gum (why must this be in every GF food? Well, I know why, but wish there was another alternative), and then more natural flavor at the bottom as well.
All in all, I am very happy with this cookie! It’s nice to just have something you’re able to keep in your fridge or freezer and take out for a quick ‘something sweet’!
